It was only a matter of time before I painted my beloved Pit Bull, Miso Luvlee, and in a BIG way! I chose to portray her in a larger than life manner, looking unabashedly at the viewer because I wanted to capture an essential truth that she has taught me: Miso is not afraid or ashamed of what she is. She doesn't know that she's a "Pit Bull," and that to some people that's a negative thing.

Instead, Miso and many of the other Pit Bulls I work with continually show exuberant and overflowing joy at life and the people around them. Pit Bulls love you with a neon, firecracker kind of love. Living with Miso has challenged me to stop being consumed by labels, stereotypes, and other people's whispering – and to live my life "Pitty-style." Thanks for the inspiration, Super Girl!
